So the meet-up is supposed to be this weekend, and to the extent of my knowledge, no one's said where we're meeting up yet. While it would be interesting to just let a handful of artists drive around Atlanta for hours until they start bumping into...

Everything You Need to Know

Yallo everyone! Sarah White speaking!

All righty! Here's the down-low on the white girl. I am 21 years old, born in New York state, and currently parking my backside in Roswell, Georgia while I'm in-between colleges. I went a year and a half at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama, and I'm about to head off to the University of North Texas in Dallas, Texas. Woot!

My addictions of choice are drawing, reading, and occasionally playing video games, though I've got infinitely less time for that sort of this these days. You can, of course, check out my online deviantArt gallery right about here. I also have had a webcomic called Kastle Comics, based entirely on my real-life experiences working at a comic book store. I'm not updating it anymore, because I don't work at the comic book store anymore, but you can check out a year's worth of comic strips at the Kastle Comics website! There's some good stuff in there, so I highly recommend checking it out. It's totally worth your time.

I'm currently working on killing time until my next semester of college, sitting on my bum and getting some artwork done, and other such nonsensical endeavors. I'm also putting the final touches on three stand-alone Kastle Comics stories that will hopefully be printed and available for anyone to buy and read and love.

Now, for bragging time. Aside from my long-deceased webcomic, I've also been published in nationally syndicated newspapers a grand total of six times while working with Prickly City artist and editorial cartoonist Scott Stantis. I've had ten pages of my artwork appear in a volume of the Christian-themed SERENITY comic published by Real Buzz Studios. I've done the artwork for a children's book called The Much Too Fluffy Scrambled Eggs, written by Edward Moony. It hasn't been published yet, but he's "working on it". I also had a single page of my artwork appear in the trade paperback anthology of the Comic Jam War winners! But everyone got at least one page in that thing, so it's not really saying much...

With Kastle Comics dead and gone, I'm working on a new webcomic that I plan to start up as soon as I finish the script. It's going to be called Soda Pop, and I can't tell you what it's about, but if you go to my deviantArt page, you can find a preview image of it and try to figure it out for yourself.

In other news! My favorite comic books are Walking Dead, Fables, Invincible, Incredible Hercules, and I'm sure there are some others like Thor that I can't think of at the moment. My favorite webcomics are The Devil's Panties, Red String, Girls With Slingshots, and Looking For Group. And my favorite video games are Tales of Symphonia, Animal Crossing, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, Elite Beat Agents, and Meteos.

And I think that just about sums up everything you need to know about Sarah White, artist extraordinaire! And in case I didn't mention it enough already, don't forget to take a look at my deviantArt page and my now-dead-but-still-awesome webcomic Kastle Comics!

Good night, folks!

FAQ

What is this network?

The Atlanta Comics Creators network is just what it says it is, group of Atlanta-based comics creators who use this online resource to make connections, build peer relationships, and further their comics careers.

Who is invited to join?

All mainstream, indie, or webcomic artists, inkers, writers, colorists, editors, and publishers; animators; and pop art and low brow creators local to the Atlanta area.

What can I do here?

Take part in forums to pick the minds of other creators, mentor and be mentored, develop small groups based on locale for real life connections, show off your work, form creative teams, network into national and international markets based on current members, and more to come, such as chat functions and more.

Why should I take part?

Because working in this industry tends to isolate us more than pull us together. Because you never know who your next boss or co-worker will be. Because making friends among your peers is a good practice. Because somebody worked really hard to try to make this place a useful resource, dang it.

What are "groups"?

"Groups" are ways of hooking up by common interests (such as manga or webcomics), location (North Atlanta or Downtown), job focus (artist, writer, pop art, or animator), or any other criteria that bonds us together in groups of people that can help each other become more effective or just hang out and enjoy each others' company.

Where can I get more info about this network?
