Elliot Blake

I'm an Emmy Award-winning writer/producer, based in Atlanta, Georgia, and the owner of Nine Panel Grid, LLC, offering writing and producing services for animation, comics, and new media. I've got a number of projects in development right now, including a comic called The Package, illustrated by the supremely talented Alexis Ziritt (that's him in the Mexican wrestling mask over in the My Friends section), an animated series with indie cartoonist Jeffrey Brown, and a documentary series called Behind the Panel. Prior to founding Nine Panel Grid, I worked for Turner Broadcasting/GameTap, where I produced the animated web series Re\Visioned: Tomb Raider, which netted me that Emmy, and features work from comics luminaries Warren Ellis, Jim Lee, Cully Hamner, Christos Gage, Gail Simone, Brian Pulido, and Michael Stackpole, as well as Aeon Flux creator Peter Chung. I also wrote and produced Re\Visioned: Activision 2600 (which Kotaku.com calls "brilliant"), Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Confessions (which I co-created), and the interview series Jim Lee Talks.... Before my stint at GameTap, I was an associate producer on the Adult Swim show Stroker & Hoop. And before that, I spent close to 10 years at Rough Draft Studios in Los Angeles, learning the ins and outs of animation production from some of the most talented people in the business, as the design coordinator on Futurama, Baby Blues, and Drawn Together. I also served as a writer on projects developed in-house at Rough Draft, co-wrote the Cartoon Network pilot Fungus Among Us, and wrote the story for the Drawn Together episode "Captain Hero's Marriage Pact."

Storytelling is my main interest, and I hope to keep telling good stories, in animation, comics, and any other medium that will have me.
